II. All components of this steel anvil are made of steel and tool steel. The mating surface between the anvil core and the anvil body [Morse taper No. 4] is ground to precision, and the surface hardness of the anvil core is HRC 62–64.

3. This steel anvil is typically placed on a horizontal surface for calibrating rebound hammers. The rebound hammer is struck vertically downward to perform the impact test and calibrate the rebound hammer’s calibration value. IV. As an inspection tool, after this steel anvil has undergone 5,000 to 8,000 impact tests, the anvil core and body may be reused after being ground flat on a horizontal surface; however, the hardness of the anvil core must still be maintained at HRC 62–64. Otherwise, it must not be used again.
