Application and Overview
QTZ type paint film cone bending tester is suitable for the determination of color paint, varnish coating (including single-layer and composite coating system) in the standard conditions, bending around the conical axis, resistance to cracking or peeling performance from the metal substrate, but also to determine the elongation of the coating.

This instrument conforms to the international standard IS06860-1984(E).

Structure and Working Principle of the Instrument .
The instrument is purely mechanical, its structure mainly consists of tapered shaft 1, tie rod 3, lever 6, clamping test plate 2 and other devices.
The principle is: the test plate is inserted between the tie rod and the tapered shaft, and clamped with the clamping plate to hold the joystick, from the front to the back of the flip axis (so that the test plate around the tapered axis of the bend), according to the test plate on the location of the coating cracks to determine its peeling performance.

(1) Materials and dimensions
Unless otherwise specified or agreed, the test panels shall conform to the requirements of GP9271-88 《Standard Test Panels for Color Paint and Varnish》 and shall be either polished steel, polished tinplate or soft aluminum.

The test plate should be flat, without deformation, and the surface should be free of any visible bulging parts or cracks, the test plate should be 100mm*180mm, and its maximum thickness should be 0.8mm, if there will be no deformation the test plate can be cut after painting and drying, and in the case of aluminum plate, its long side should be parallel to the longitudinal (axial) direction in the metal lapping process.

(2) Treatment and painting of test panels
Unless otherwise specified, three test panels shall be prepared in accordance with the provisions of GB1727 I79 General Preparation Method of Paint Film. If it is painted by brushing, the brush marks should be parallel to the short side of the sample board.
(3) Drying and drying conditions
According to the specified time drying (or baking hardening) each piece of coated test plate, and then the sample plate in 23 ± 2 ° C and relative temperature of 50 ± 5% under the conditions of at least 16h as soon as possible to carry out the variegation test.

Operation and Usage Methods
1, the preparation of the short side of the test plate 20mm, parallel cut 20mm * 100mm, in order to avoid the edge of the test plate to affect the test results.
2、 Place the joystick 6 on the V-shaped support 5, insert the coated side of the test plate towards 3, so that one of its short edges (cut off 20*100) and the small end of the shaft contact, and then turn the knob 4 to clamp the test plate, and then uniformly and smoothly rotate the joystick to make the test plate bending, so that it is 180 ° around the axis in 2-3S time. Record the test plate crack (referring to the coating crack) furthest away from the small end of the shaft and mark it, then remove the test plate.
(Note I. A piece of paper can be placed on the coated surface between the test plate and the tie rod to prevent the tie rod from scratching the coating film during the bending operation）

Degree Plate Inspection

Immediately check for cracking or peeling of the coating film from the test plate, either visually or by agreeing to use a 10x magnifying glass and measure along the sample plate the distance in centimeters from the small end of the shaft to the point of cracking.

Calculate the average of the three measurements, which is the final measurement, to the nearest centimeter (unit).

 Maintenance
1、After using for a period of time, inject a little oil into the rotating parts to ensure its rotation flexibility.
2、When not in use, the instrument cover should be covered to prevent dust.
